Your local farm ... our iceblocks ... a Sunshine Coast story

The vibrant juicy strawberry 🍓

Natalie and Jamie Dalton are lovers of good whole food. Jamie says "good food makes you feel good. It may cost more, but it's worth it. I appreciate a good chef, if I'm paying more and the chef is being remunerated, then he feels good and puts happiness into food.  That's what I do and you can taste it."

Having a history of food intolerances means Natalie and Jamie prefer to spend time cooking from scratch. The desire to perfect the quintessential Aussie iceblock led them to one of Australia’s great strawberry farms, Taste ‘N See.
Picture

Farming for 45 years

Merv and Marilyn are great farmers for many reasons, in the early days farming was about helping out your neighbours and the community and that hasn't changed. These are our top reasons we love Taste ‘N See strawberries;

🍓 Quality is number one, they only sell quality first grade fruit
🍓 Strong connection to family, staff and their community
🍓 Staff are their backbone, with 60% of workers living locally and returning each season

🍓 They are pioneering new raised strawberry bed technology to continually improve their fruit and environmental practices

Taste ‘N See strawberries are situated on 50 acres south of the Sunshine Coast producing quality strawberries for 45 years. Now run predominately by three sisters Tracey, Sam and Laura who joke about being made in a strawberry patch said you learn a lot in 45 years "if you want quality you have to pay for it".
Picture

Farm to table

In strawberry season Jamie and Natalie drive to Taste ‘N See farms each week to pick up 50 trays of strawberries. Hulling the strawberries is a mammoth task for the Frozen Sunshine team but with music up loud they're all into the groove.

Ugly fruit… amazing flavour!
Strawberries with imperfections and odd shapes don't make the grade as premium fruit in supermarkets, so instead of throwing these strawberries Taste 'N See give them to Frozen Sunshine. In return Taste 'N See don't ask for payment but ask that Natalie and Jamie donate money they would have otherwise sent to charity.

Try our
Strawberry and Strawberry lemonade iceblocks today and let us know what you think. Can you taste the happiness?

Winning a medal is no easy feat....  How about four!

The Royal Queensland Food & Wine Show (RQFWS) had its first competition in 1876 and ever since it has recognised the finest food products available to consumers in Queensland. Australia’s most respected and experienced food industry professionals judge products at the highest level. The products are judged on their flavour, aroma, body, texture and presentation.

Our iceblocks have never fit neatly into the mould of the Ice Cream, Gelato & Sorbet awards at the show until this year, with the inaugural multi-pack category being open for single serve multi-packs both dairy and non-dairy, 🎉 YAY. So we entered all four of our multi packs - Strawberry, Chocolate, Mango Swirl & Cookie Crumble.
Picture
To our delight our Strawberry multi-pack was awarded a SILVER medal, while Chocolate, Cookie Crumble and Mango Swirl were awarded BRONZE medals.
Picture
We were so excited our Strawberry iceblock received silver and here's why:
  • The strawberries are picked fresh off the plant from our local friends at Taste ‘n See strawberry farm.
  • Taste 'n See have 40 years experience in growing quality strawberries over 38 hectares.
  • Fresh from the farm we hull the strawberries in our factory and blend it with coconut milk and vanilla bean.
Nothing compares to our Strawberry iceblock, its berry delicious. (Read more strawberry info here: http://www.frozensunshine.com.au/strawberry.html )
Picture
That's a berry special block, so berry sweet!
We are fuelled by passion for quality, hand crafting iceblocks that scream flavour. L👀K out for our multi-packs in IGA and participating stores. To find your nearest stockist visit: http://www.frozensunshine.com.au/where-to-buy.html.

From our family to yours we hope you enjoy a little Frozen Sunshine.

These include:
1. Cows milk
2. Eggs
3. Fish
4. Peanuts
5. Sesame
6. Shellfish
7. Soy
8. Tree nuts
9. Wheat

Whilst we understand the difficulties of having food allergies and food sensitivities, there is some good news!  Frozen Sunshine iceblocks have ⛔
✅ No cows milk
✅ No egg
✅ No wheat
✅ No nuts
✅ No sesame
✅ No fish 😆

Thats 8 out of 9 foods that cause the majority of reactions. ❤️

May contain soy. The chocolate we use in our Chocolate and Cookie Crumble iceblocks is top quality Belgian chocolate containing 70% cocoa solids. It is dairy and nut free but it does contain the emulsifier "Soya Lecithin". Although we have separate equipment for preparing the mixes containing chocolate and take care when cleaning down the moulds, there is a chance that traces of the allergen may remain. As a result all other flavours are labelled "May contain soybeans" because we use the same moulds for all iceblocks in our range. Be sure to visit our flavours page for the full list of ingredients

Half a million Aussies have a diagnosed food allergy? That's alot!

We’ve all been guilty of a self-diagnosis on the Internet. But if you suspect you have a food allergy, it’s important to consult your general practitioner (GP).

We love your messages and handcrafting iceblocks you can enjoy so keep your stories coming we'd love to hear from you.
